Component Registration in PeopleSoft Portal

When you create a customized page it is important that you associate the page with a menu. Through the menu you will create a portal and structure definition and this will allow you to display your customized page. To register a newly created page, use the Portal Wizard.
But before need to Do some steps:
  • Add a page to a component.
  • Add a component to a menu
  • Add a Folder to a portal or get the Existing Folder Name like for self service or etc ( navigaion Peopletools -> Portal -> Structur and Contents )

  • You can even register the component in more than one portal. In the following illustration, you see the first step in the registration of a component in a portal and on a menu. When you click on the button at the very end of the toolbar with the red cross, the first of the wizard screens opens. You will want all three checks in the first page of the wizard because you want to add this component to a menu, portal register, and a permission list.
  • The second page of the Portal Wizard is where you select the menu and bar on which you want to define your component.
  • The third page of the wizard is where you define the portal on which your page will reside. The Folder name will be same that you added on portal or that has for exiting folder

  •  On the final page of the Portal Registery Wizard, you set the permission list you want associated with your component (which is where your page resides).

  •  So, as you can see, it is all tied together—you have to have a component, page, menu, permission list, and a place on the portal in order to display your new page. Here’s what the end result will look like.
